"Sparkly Unicorn Poop" is a beautiful blue-violet crelly with blue-indigo-violet aurora pigment and a sprinkling of scattered holo.

"Peach Believe-in-me" and "Sparkly Unicorn Poop" are very special polishes... $2 from each bottle sold will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute. (I chose this charity because it has stellar ratings from all of the charity watchdogs. Sadly, there aren't many charities specifically for uterine cancer or gynecological cancer and the ones that do exist are either too small or new to be rated.) You can also donate directly here: www.cancerresearch.org
These polishes will be available through September 30, 2018 in recognition of Uterine Cancer Awareness Month

A few months ago, a Hue-t-pie named Katie contacted me and told me that her mom had been diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer. She asked if I would create a special custom polish to not only lift her mom's spirits while she goes through treatment, but also to share with the team of friends and family supporting her along the way. I don't typically offer custom polishes that I've created for someone in my shop, but after talking with Katie and Mama Gayle, I decided that "Sparkly Unicorn Poop" could really help others too. I created "Peach Believe-in-me" to represent the uterine cancer awareness ribbon and because it looks great with "Sparkly Unicorn Poop" don't you think?

From Katie: "I was in the hospital when I found out that my Mama had a rare form of uterine cancer. We didn't know what her prognosis was or what treatments she'd need. Since I was stuck over 400 miles away, and couldn't be there to give her a hug, I focused on something I could do. Mostly that involved sending her silly socks and comfy pajamas. But since Mama and I always get pedicures when we're together, nail polish seemed appropriate. I searched for hours, but I couldn't find the perfect shade of of our special color--iris blue-purple. I contacted Heather, and asked if she could match a photo of one of my irises, with some sparkle to match my Mama's personality. She delivered so much more than I could have dreamed of. And because we're silly, our motto for Mama's cancer is, "Cancer is poopy, but we beat it with sparkly unicorn poop and a lotta magnificent medical minds," the name of the polish was easy. Thus "Sparkly Unicorn Poop" was born. I ordered bottles to thank everyone who has been part of the team, helping Mama through this difficult time. Right now Mama is cancer-free post-surgery. She still needs chemo treatments and radiation therapy to prevent the cancer from returning. But we know we'll get through it together with fabulously polished nails!"

I always use the highest quality cosmetic-grade ingredients from reputable suppliers for my polishes. Each and every polish is hand-mixed by me personally in a clean and sanitary environment. Almost every polish is made to order. I usually only mix large batches of polish a day or two prior to new collection releases.

Indie polishes are quite different from mainstream polishes. They are made and bottled with love! You'll find there is many more beautiful options when it comes to types of indie polishes. There are also some helpful hints that apply to indie polishes. First, you should always let your bottles of polish reach room temperature before opening them (especially in cold weather months). Next, please ALWAYS use 2 or more coats of a quality basecoat before applying polishes. ***DUE TO THE HIGH PIGMENTATION OF SOME POLISH COLORS, NAIL STAINING MAY OCCUR*** (This is why using a quality basecoat is so important). Also, you may find it helpful to set your bottle of polish upside down for about 10 minutes before use, then roll it around in your hands. ***SOME OF THE HEAVIER GLITTERS MAY SETTLE TO THE BOTTTOM OF THE BOTTLE*** This is why the upside-down trick is helpful...it will reduce the amount of fishing for glitters, especially the heavy glitters. A quality topcoat is also recommended to help deter wear to your polish and smooth out large glitters. Finally, please feel free to offer feedback to me. As an indie maker, I love to hear what my customers love, don't like, would like more/less of!! You can always email me at HLW117@comcast.net, message me through Etsy, on Facebook at Heather's Hues or my Facebook group Heather's HueTpies, and on Instagram @heathers_hues.....please don't hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns!!
